1200 miles through southern India on a motor bike …
but not on this one!
Hi everyone
My name is Marc Ponting and I have lived in the village (Walgrave) for 20 years with my wife Dee and our two boys Casey and Jude.
On 22nd January 2012, I am taking part in the 10th anniversary of the Enduro India, a 1200-mile, two week motorcycle endurance ride through southern India on a Royal Enfield 350cc 'Bullet'. I won this fantastic opportunity in a competition run by the motorbike magazine 'Ride'.
As this awesome experience coincides with the tenth anniversary of losing our first son Jamie to cancer, I am raising money for the Rainbow Trust, a charity providing emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness, which is obviously close to our hearts.
Enduro India is a motorbike adventure through one of the most incredible and beautiful regions of the world – southern India. Through the testing and widely diverse terrains of Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and across the Western Ghat mountain range; from busy towns and cities, to arid desert plains, dense seldom-used forest trails and mountain passes, it promises to be a real challenge and test of endurance.
All my expenses are paid for by the magazine - so every penny you donate will go directly to the Rainbow Trust, making a massive difference to families of children in England.
If you would like to help with a donation or can give an item I can sell on eBay (see *** below), please have a look on my website at www.virginmoneygiving.com/marcponting
Thanks again for any help you can give; I will only get this chance once and really appreciate your support.

*** eBay: If anyone has any items of some value that they would be prepared to donate to the cause so that I could auction them on eBay - that would be great and would hopefully boost the fund. I am thinking about that unwanted or unused, new or good condition item that you no longer want and will never get round to selling - but is too good or valuable to throw out. Just contact me or leave a message when you donate and I will get in touch.
PS: If you have an hour to kill one evening and you would like to get a feel of what this trip is all about, or if you think it is going to be a ride in the park, please go to www.enduroindia.com and click on 'full movie'.
Many thanks, and don't forget to wish me luck!
